The OVRLND Mattress cover uses 840-denier ballistic nylon on the base and sides, selected specifically for the wear and abuse that comes with camper life.

Ballistic nylon uses a dense woven construction designed for durability and abrasion resistance. We chose 840D because it gives us a strong protective exterior without the excessive weight and stiffness of heavier ballistic fabrics.

The goal wasn't to make the lightest mattress cover possible. We wanted a cover that could take years of actual use inside a truck camper.

Water protection is built into the construction of the cover—not just applied to its surface.

A TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) membrane is laminated to the back of the 840D fabric, creating a waterproof barrier between the outside of the cover and the foam inside.

We also use a waterproof zipper to provide additional protection at the primary opening of the removable cover.

Why TPU?

• Creates a waterproof barrier behind the exterior fabric
  
• Helps prevent spills and moisture from reaching the foam
  
• Flexible enough to move with the mattress
  
• Permanently laminated to the fabric rather than relying solely on a surface water-repellent treatment
  
• Helps make the cover better suited to wet gear, spills, condensation, and everyday camper use
  

Important: The fabric and zipper are waterproof, but the sewn seams of the finished cover are not seam-sealed. For that reason, we describe the complete mattress cover as water-resistant rather than fully waterproof.

The cover is designed to protect against the moisture you're likely to encounter in normal camper use—not to be submerged.

Our 840D ballistic nylon is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified.

STANDARD 100 is an independent textile certification in which textile products and their components are tested against requirements for harmful substances. OEKO-TEX maintains a catalog of regulated and non-regulated substances and updates its requirements as scientific knowledge and regulations evolve.

Why this matters to us:

• The material has been tested against an established textile standard
  
• Testing considers substances that may be harmful to human health
  
• Requirements extend beyond simply meeting basic textile performance specifications
  
• The standard applies to textile components based on their intended level of skin contact
  

A mattress is something you spend hours sleeping on at a time. We wanted the fabric surrounding our foam to meet a recognized textile standard—not simply be tough and waterproof.

The exterior fabric uses a PFAS-free water-repellent treatment.

PFAS chemistry has historically been used in textile treatments because of its ability to repel water, oil, and stains. When developing our new fabric, we specifically chose a water-repellent treatment that does not intentionally use PFAS chemistry.

Why we made the change:

• Water repellency is still important for camper use
  
• We didn't want that performance to depend on intentionally added PFAS
  
• The surface treatment helps water bead and roll off the fabric
  
• The TPU membrane underneath provides the actual waterproof barrier
  
• The two systems work differently: water repellency on the outside, waterproof protection underneath
  

Our production fabric is independently tested for PFAS.

Camper mattresses get dirty, so the new OVRLND cover was designed to come off and be washed.

The entire cover is removable, allowing you to clean the cover separately without exposing the foam to the washing process.

Care for the new 840D cover:

• Remove all foam before washing
  
• Machine wash cold
  
• Use a gentle cycle
  
• Use mild detergent
  
• Do not bleach
  
• Do not use fabric softener
  
• Dry on Low Heat
  

For normal dirt and small spills, spot cleaning with mild soap and water is recommended when a full wash isn't necessary.

Have an older OVRLND mattress? Previous-generation covers use different fabrics and may not be machine washable. Always check the care label sewn inside your specific cover before washing.
